CHRYSALIS: HOME STUDIO was established in 1994 as a sideline business in order to provide professional residential design services. Registered architect since 1996. Experience in the design of new homes and additions, as well as whole-house remodeling. Versed in most styles of architecture, (although tend towards such styles as arts & crafts, bungalow, craftsman, contemporary, cottage, deco, mission, modern, prairie, usonian, etc.). Projects of any size, large or small. Design philosophy: a home should be simultaneously in harmony with its site, its inhabitants, and an established budget. Design process includes: - initial consultation/meeting at no charge. - listening to the client's concerns, goals and ideas without preconceptions (sketches and magazine clippings are welcome). - presenting creative solutions to the client (and builder), in order to receive feedback as to aesthetics (and budget). - further refinement and final design, such that the client's goals will be achieved. Compensation is at a reasonable rate compared to larger residential design firms with higher overhead costs.
